Posted on June 4, 2014August 15, 20192014 AWARD-WINNING PROJECT: Vandusen Botanical Garden Visitor Centre, Vancouver A roof petal turns downward to touch the earth, symbolically expressing the connection between building and nature. The oculus at the centre of the building acts as a ventilation chimney, a skylight, and also as a sundial. The Green roof which includes a vegetated land ramp to connect the roof to the ground plane.
